I hold my hands up and except responsibility for what happened yesterday. I made a bad decision that turned the game by bowling myself when Gleeson was injured. I'd hoped I could finish the over only going for a few but it went horribly wrong. That said, I am proud of every single person in the team for the way they kept going and always believed - we almost pulled it out the bag. The team were incredible and should hold their heads up high.

Northamptonshire batted out for a draw on the final afternoon at Wantage Road after Leicestershire declined to offer a reasonable chase. They set the home side 415 to win in 51 overs, so Northants just played out time for a 10-point draw, closing on 118 for 1.
