Duckett named in Specsavers One to Watch shortlist

NCCC and England Lions batsman Ben Duckett has been named in the initial list of six contenders to be crowned Specsavers One to Watch for the summer of 2016.

Most cricketers can name the date of their first proper century. An under-19s match or a second XI fixture perhaps. Not so Chad Barrett, who took until the age of 27 and his second appearance for Northamptonshire to notch his first ton.

JOSH COBB SIGNS NEW THREE YEAR CONTRACT

osh Cobb has signed a new three year deal with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. The all rounder has become a familiar face at the County Ground since he joined in at the beginning of 2014 from Leicestershire and no doubt the news of his continuing presence will delight supporters.

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE V LEICESTERSHIRE - DAY 4

Northamptonshire batted out for a draw on the final afternoon at Wantage Road after Leicestershire declined to offer a reasonable chase. They set the home side 415 to win in 51 overs, so Northants just played out time for a 10-point draw, closing on 118 for 1.

Northamptonshire resume their Specsavers County Championship campaign on Saturday against Leicestershire at Wantage Road and still have a point to prove despite their their one-day success.

GLAMORGAN V NORTHAMPTONSHIRE - DAY 4

A career-best performance by Ben Sanderson - who took 7 for 22 from 13 overs on a pitch of variable bounce - enabled Northamptonshire to win their first Specsavers Championship game of the season as Glamorgan were bundled out for just 95 in 37.4 overs at the St. Helen's ground in Swansea.
