The Steelbacks had to settle for a point after another No Result was declared following the abandonment of their first home game in this season's NatWest Pro40. Despite being able to play 34 overs in the day, the umpires finally gave up just before 7pm.
Northants had made a good start in trying to chase down a target of 122 in 17 overs, but after constant disruptions throughout the day, Capel's men has to settle for the point.
The team now have to travel to Gloucestershire for a LV County Championship match which starts tomorrow. The match is vital for Northants' promotion aims but David Willey will be rested having played a lot of cricket in the recent past. Monty Panesar will play, whilst Niall O'Brien is still not fit enough to travel.
