Northants Cricket is delighted to announce that club captain Nicky Boje has signed a new one-year deal that will see him lead the club until the end of the 2010 season.

An integral part of the club since becoming captain for the 2008 season, Nicky has led the team to a Twenty20 finals day, whilst helping the team to challenge for promotion in this season's LV County Championship. Nicky has scored 565 runs and taken 19 wickets in first class cricket, whilst excelling in one-day cricket so far in 2009.

Nicky said, "I'm delighted to play here for another year. I'm looking forward to the challenge and I think we have some good things going on here at the club. It is exciting to be part of the set-up here."

Head coach David Capel commented, "Nicky has been a big part of our squad over the past couple of years, with captaincy and his all-round ability, he is a massive asset to Northants Cricket. It is great news that he is coming back for another year. I enjoy working and look forward to continuing to work with Nicky."
