Charlie Scoops National Bowling Award - Natwest Speed Stars final 2009

Northants Under 11 youngster Charlie Clarke was recently announced as a NatWest Speed Star 2009.

Darren Gough helped present Charlie with the "Male Under 12 Winner" award during the 2009 Natwest Speed Stars national final at Lord's on 26th September 2009 in London. Natwest Speed Stars is a nationwide search to find young fast bowlers in association with the ECB.

Nearly a thousand boys took part in the Under 12 age category in over 13 different roadshows across the country.

In the final Charlie saw off challenges from two other county bowlers from Buckinghamshire and Gloucestershire, with a top speed registered by Hawkeye at over 61mph.

Darren Gough, Michael Vaughan and Charlotte Edwards were on hand to give advice and present Commemorative bats signed by the England team, to each respective age group winner. Awards were made to Winners of the Under 12, Under 15, Under 18 and Adult age categories.
