Northants cricket is delighted to announce the signing of Mal Loye on a two-year deal. The top order batsman is rejoining his home town club after seven seasons with Lancashire.
Loye is closing on 15,000 first class runs and 9000 one-day runs at an average of over 40, and has international one-day experience, playing for England against the Australians. The move will help further strengthen Northants' top order batting, whilst giving another attacking option in all forms of one-day cricket.
The Northampton-born batsman said of the move: "I'm delighted to be back. I had a feeling that I would return and when I was coming through the gates yesterday, I know I've made a positive decision to come back, and I can't wait for play for Northants once again!"
Head Coach David Capel added: "I'm thrilled to welcome Mal back home to Northants Cricket. I'm delighted that he has come back after seven years of gaining even more valuable experience from his time with Lancashire. I'm sure Mal will bring with him, not only his batting and cricketing skills, but a vast amount of knowledge to share with us all."
