Northants Cricket has launched a brand new logo for the Steelbacks. With a new structure to the domestic game which sees the introduction of two new competitions, the Friends Provident T20 and ECB 40 Over League, it was decided that the Steelbacks needed a modern and dynamic logo to reflect the change in limited overs cricket.
The new design is the first change of logo since its inception in 1999. The new logo features a Steelback soldier, shield and 'steel' font to help increase the club's brand identity.
Cricket Sales Manager Andrew Crook said of the new logo, "Everyone at Northants Cricket is excited about the new era of Twenty20 cricket. To mark this, we decided the logo needed a complete overhaul to help bring the club to the fore of the limited over game.
"We are proud to be called the Steelbacks, a name that comes from an historic Northamptonshire Army regiment and the new logo brings the Steelbacks into the modern era. We are looking forward to mustering that same level of fighting spirit as we once again battle for T20 glory in 2010"
