Northants Cricket is delighted to announce that David Willey and Stephen Peters have signed contract extensions until the end of 2011.
David Willey has signed for an extra year and will be keen to improve on an impressive debut season in the professional game, which has seen him pick up 10 wickets at a stunning average of 11.3 in this year's Twenty20 Cup.
Stephen Peters is leading the run-scoring averages for Northants in the LV County Championship, and celebrated the signing of a new contract with a brilliant 163 against Glamorgan. The 30-year-old opener has also scored two other centuries this season and currently has 847 runs to his name.
Head Coach David Capel commented, "I'm pleased with David's progress throughout the season and look forward to seeing that continue over the next couple of years. I see David as a talented all rounder and will look to see him develop in all areas and formats of the game.
"Stephen's signing an extension is another important step for the club and the player. I am delighted he has committed to the club as this season he has again proved that he is a very valuable member of our squad. What pleases me most is that he is still improving as a cricketer and there is plenty more to come from him."
