Northamptonshire enjoyed an excellent final session to give themselves a victory chance going into the last day of their Second XI Championship match against Middlesex at Uxbridge.
Replying to the hosts' 424-8, the County were boosted by useful runs from former Sussex man Neil Turk (87), trialist Paul Harrison (64) and all-rounder Mark Nelson (62no). The declaration came at tea on 313-4, a deficit of 111.
Then fast bowler 'Bud' Bailey snapped up three wickets - with once apiece for Tom Brett and Lee Daggett - as Middlesex struggled to 123-5 in their second innings at the close.
The home side leads by 234 with five wickets standing and a day left.
