Riki Wessels was the hero with the bat, after the Steelbacks found themselves at 24-3 after five overs. RIki smashed a well worked 66 from 44 balls to allow Northants to post 157. Andrew Hall bumped up the run rate scoring 17 from 13 late on.
The Dragons started well in reply, reaching 43 without loss, before Ian Harvey struck in the sixth over.
Bowlers David Willey and Nicky Boje then stunned the Dragons with some magical bowling, Nicky finished with 3 wickets for just 14 from his four overs.
Glamorgan, batting in gloomy conditions, ran out of overs and finished 20 runs short of the target.
A vital victory for the Steelbacks means Capel's men march ever closer to the Quarter-finals.
