After a great start to their 2014 NatWest T20 Blast campaign, the reigning T20 Champions, Northamptonshire Steelbacks host East Midlands rivals Leicestershire Foxes on Friday night.
The Steelbacks won their opening game in an absolute thriller last week, away to Yorkshire Vikings at Headingley. In a see-saw battle, young Ben Duckett saw the Steelbacks through to the finish line, as they defeated Yorkshire by three wickets with one ball remaining. Stars of the match for the Steelbacks were new overseas bowler Ian Butler, who recorded figures of 4 for 25, David Willey who scored 43 off 28 balls including three sixes, and Ben Duckett who was 39 not out from 29 balls.
The visitors also won their opening game, as they defeated Derbyshire by 27 runs at Grace Road. Scott Styris was the star for Leicestershire, as he scored 63 off 31 balls including 3 sixes, whilst Nathan Buck impressed with the ball taking 3 for 26. Josh Cobb will be one to watch, after he gave Leicestershire a fast start last week, hitting 38 from 28.
Leicestershire have a very successful history in T20 cricket, having won the competition three times in ten years, which is the most out of all first-class counties. After struggling last season in all cricket, Leicestershire are a match for anyone in this competition.
Tickets can be purchased in advance until midnight tonight (Thursday 22nd May), with adults costing just £16. Click Here to purchase your tickets.
There will be no changes to the squad that travelled to Headingley last week, other than James Middlebrook coming into the squad.
