Northants host Yorkshire in the LV= County Championship today, and will be looking to seek revenge from their defeat at Headingley in April.
Northants have struggled so far this season in the LV= County Championship, with injuries and no overseas player for the first month being key contributors to the bad start. Last time out Northants hosted table toppers Middlesex here at the County Ground. Unfortunately Middlesex, showed their class with Toby Roland-Jones leading the way having a career best game, as Middlesex won by an innings and 84 runs.
Yorkshire have had a good start to the season, as they sit third in the table, 15 points behind leaders Middlesex, but with a game in hand. Last week Yorkshire faced Lancashire in a war of the roses match. Former Steelback Jack Brook was the pick of the Yorkshire bowlers taking 5 for 90 in the first innings. Whilst Yorkshire Captain, Andrew Gale led from the front with the bat, as he finished 95 not out, with the game ending in a draw.
Yorkshire have a very strong squad and despite missing several key players who are away with England, they will be a tough opposition. Jack Brooks will be spearheading their bowling attack and is the second highest wicket taker in Division One of the LV= County Championship this season. Supporters will also get a chance to see Aussie Aaron Finch in action, whilst he is more known for his big hitting in T20, Finch could be a game changer.
David Ripley has made one change to the side that faced Middlesex a fortnight ago.
David Murphy is injured so is not in the team, Rob Keogh replaces him and Ben Duckett will be wicket keeper.
