Weather woe for seconds

Northamptonshire's Second XI endured a rough week with the weather as three days out of a possible four were completely washed out.

Monday's one-day Trophy match against Kent at Dunstable fell victim to rain as did the first two days of a friendly against Derbyshire at Stowe School.

Conditions improved sufficiently for a 40-over contest to be arranged at Stowe on Thursday - but even that was cut short by the weather.

Derbyshire totalled 247-6 thanks to a Paul Borrington century, and Northamptonshire had reached 128-2 in their 28th over - James Kettleborough 54 not out - when the heavens opened yet again.

Phil Rowe's men will be hoping for much better things as they take on Unicorns at Long Marston in the Trophy on Monday June 2nd.
