Northants resumed on the final day of their LV= County Championship match against Yorkshire on 66/3, still 365 runs behind the visitors.
The Northants pair of Matthew Spriegel and Rob Keogh would have hoped to try and build a lengthy partnership against one of the best bowling attacks in the country. Unfortunately though, the day got off to an awful start for Northants, as Spriegel was trapped lbw for 14 off Tim Bresnan, with the first ball of the day.
Things got worse for Northants, when Rob Keogh went 12 runs later, as he was caught behind off Jack Brooks for 25. Andrew Hall came in, and looked in good nick early on, as he found the boundary with ease; however he was then caught by Alex Lees off Liam Plunkett, after scoring 24 from 18 balls, with Northants on 109/6.
Unfortunately for Northants, the theme of not being able to put together a long partnership continued throughout the day, as Ben Duckett fell for 10, when he was caught behind off Plunkett, with the score on 135/7. When Rob Newton followed 13 runs later, after scoring 33, the end was nigh for Northants.
Northants were eventually bowled out for 160, as they lost to Yorkshire by 271 runs. Next up for Northants will be Sri Lanka in a four day tour match, which starts on Thursday. Tickets for the tour match can be purchased here.
