Steelbacks captain Kyle Coetzer has encouraged the club’s supporters to come out in force for his sides NatWest T20 Blast fixture against the Durham Jets on Friday night.
The side have lost their last three games in the competition after being defeated by the Yorkshire Vikings last time round at The County Ground before falling short against both the Birmingham Bears and Lancashire Lightning on Thursday and Friday night respectively.
Coetzer said “We really need the backing of our supporters at the moment, and a full County Ground will certainly help us get that vital win against Durham. It's a huge game and one that we just need to win”.
The captain added, “If we are realistic about making the quarter final, we need all the support we can get and the atmosphere at the ground when it’s full is absolutely brilliant”.
The Steelbacks are now exactly half way through their NatWest T20 Blast competition having recorded two victories, four defeats and a no result.
The side still have home fixtures against Durham, Birmingham Bears, Derbyshire Falcons, Worcestershire Rapids and Nottinghamshire Outlaws whilst the Steelbacks still have away fixtures against Leicestershire and Durham.
Coetzer said “there is a long way to go in the competition and on our day, we know that we can beat any team in the country which we proved that last season. There is still a lot to play for!”
