Once again, many schools in Northamptonshire competed in the Kwik Cricket County Schools Finals yesterday.
Kwik Cricket is a simple game for all boys and girls from five years of age upwards.
It is currently played in 8,000 primary schools and over 4,500 of the 6,000 ECB affiliated clubs. It’s designed to provide children with an introduction to cricket and can be played either indoors or outdoors.
The schools contesting the semi-finals will be: Yardley Gobion – Cedar Road – Danesholme – Wooton – Mawsley - Wellingborough, Park Junior - Boothville - Gretton and Freemans
All schools successfully won their cluster and district final competition, progressing through to the finals here at the County Ground.
Northants Cricket Development Officer Chris Leonard spoke to northantscricket.com and said, “Schools cricket is really important for the future of the sport and the club, this is where it all starts”
