Player of the Month Nominations for July


Northants Cricket are delighted to announce that Steven Crook, Adam Rossington and David Willey have been nominated for the Steffans Jewellers Player of the Month for July.

This is the second month in a row Crook has been nominated for the Steffans Jewellers Player of the Month after winning June’s award, as the all-rounder has really hit a purple patch of form. Crook was impressive with both bat and ball, hitting a half century against Sussex in the LV= County Championship, whilst also making a good start in the Royal London One-Day Cup. With the ball, in the last six NatWest T20 Blast games, Crook took 10 wickets at an amazing average of 12.8. 

Adam Rossington had a superb first month with the club. The 21-year old has quickly impressed all at the County Ground with his attacking batting style. In the six NatWest T20 Blast games Rossington played for the County, he averaged 26.5 including a brilliant unbeaten 52 against Durham. Whilst in One-Day action Rossington scored an impressive 82 in a win against Gloucestershire, as well as scoring a half century on his First Class debut for the club.

David Willey’s form has seen him get selected for the England Lions, as he continues his mission on gaining full England honours. Willey has been impressive throughout the month of July. In the Royal London One-Day Cup, the all-rounder has taken seven wickets in just two games. Whilst he scored two forties in the NatWest T20 Blast, as well as hitting two half centuries against Somerset in the LV=CC.
