Northants celebrates efforts of Disabled Cricketers.

Northants Disability Cricket held it’s first ever End of Season Awards Evening last Friday, to celebrate the efforts of all disabled cricketers in the County this season.

England International Tom Savage was the main winner on the night, winning both the ‘Infiniti Player of the Year’ and ‘Players Player of the Year awards’.

Northants Disability Captain Ollie Barton was named as ‘The Cube Young Player of the Year’ and Chris Towler was voted at the ‘Coaches Player of the Year.’

Batting & Bowling performances were also recognised on the night as below

Bowling – Matthew Parkin v Warwickshire: 4-1-13-4

Batting – Tom Savage v Saints CC: 83 and Zaib Sabih v. Wellingborough O.Gs 69

Over 120 guests attended the evening at the County Ground, where a number of fundraising elements helped raise over £2000 for Northants Disability Cricket.

Northants Disability Coach Andy Hill said of the evening: “This year has proved to be a great success for the County’s Disability set up, which has helped to put us firmly on the map for disability cricket. I would like to once again congratulate all winners and all players throughout the set up for their efforts over the past year.”
