Northants Cricket is delighted to announce that Australian batsman Cameron White is to return to the County Ground for this year’s Friends Life t20 campaign.
A highly experienced t20 batsman, White has featured for Australia in 38 T20 internationals, scoring 712 runs at an average of 28.5, with a top score of 85*, captaining his country on numerous occasions.
Last year, White appeared in 9 matches for the Steelbacks and smashed 262 runs at an impressive average of 57, with a high score of 62.
A destructive stroke maker in the shorter forms of the game, White has also played for teams such as Somerset, Melbourne Stars, Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Victoria, featuring in 146 t20 matches, scoring 3197 runs at a average of 30.4, with a highest score of 141*.
Northants Cricket Chief Executive David Smith said, “We are delighted to welcome Cameron back to the County Ground this season, especially after his contribution with the bat last year.”
Northants Cricket Head Coach David Ripley added, "Cameron did very well for us in last year's t20 campaign, in terms of runs and batting performances. He is a very experienced t20 player and will add a fantastic amount of tactical knowledge and leadership skills to a young squad. Plus I'm sure he will offer t20 captain Alex Wakely some useful guidance throughout the campaign."
