Northants Cricket is delighted to announce that seam bowler Olly Stone has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at the County Ground until the end of the 2015 season.
This news follows a record breaking winter in South Africa for the England Under 19’s captain as Olly registered the best ever bowling figures for England in a youth Test – 11-79 from 44 overs.
The Norfolk-born seamer has progressed through the Northants Cricket Player Pathway, graduating from the Academy to the Professional ranks last season, making his First Class debut against Yorkshire in May.
Olly Stone said after signing the extension, “I was delighted to hear the good news after coming back from South Africa, where I enjoyed a level of success with ball in hand. It’s nice to be rewarded with this extension, which hopefully goes to show that I’m making progress and improving my game well.”
Head Coach David Ripley said, “This is good reward, not just for his tour, but from the moment he turned professional. His attitude to the game is outstanding for one so young, and we see him becoming a big part of the club’s future ambitions in all formats of the game.”
