Match Preview: Kent vs. Northants

After the seven wicket victory over Gloucestershire last week, Northants Cricket are enjoying a flying start to the season and will want to continue the good form when they travel to Canterbury to take on Kent.

The Division Two table toppers have been in excellent form so far this season and with seamers Steven Crook (18 wickets), David Willey (16) and Andrew Hall (13) leading the way in the wicket taking charts and FTI MVP rankings, the County will be confident facing Kent.

Kent themselves have started with two draws from their first two fixtures and will present themselves as tough opposition during the 4 day game that starts at 11am on Wednesday.

Head Coach David Ripley has named an unchanged XI for the Kent game and any suggestion of resting a bowler will have to wait especially after the seamers' superb start this season.

With a fully fit and firing squad, Northants will hope to make it three wins in a row before Sunday’s Yorkshire Bank 40 clash against Nottinghamshire Outlaws here at the County Ground. Players such as Matthew Spriegel, Lee Daggett and Rob Keogh will be pushing for selection in that match as they take on Hampshire in the 2nd XI trophy & Championship this week.
