Tolley on song as seconds draw

16th May 2013

Josh Tolley impressed with the bat as Northamptonshire's Second XI Championship match against Somerset ended in a predictable draw at Taunton Vale on Thursday.

The 22-year-old Cumberland batsman - although born in Lancashire - hit 71 as the County were dismissed for 182, with Con de Lange unable to return to the crease after retiring hurt on Wednesday.

Apart from Tolley, only Lee Daggett - who weighed in with an unbeaten 31 down the order - made much of an impression.

Beginning their second innings 76 runs in front, Somerset played out time to reach 114-2 - a wicket apiece for Muhammad Azharullah and Luke Evans - when the teams shook hands on a draw.
