Asda Kwik Cricket competitions ready to launch in Northamptonshire

Once again many schools in Northamptonshire are taking part in the Asda Kwik Cricket competitions.

Asda Kwik Cricket is a simple game for all boys and girls from five years of age upwards.

It is currently played in 8,000 primary schools and over 4,500 of the 6,000 ECB affiliated clubs. It’s designed to provide children with an introduction to cricket and can be played either indoors or outdoors.

Since Asda began sponsoring Kwik Cricket in 2006 the competition has introduced over 750,000 participants into the game of cricket. Over the last six years there has been a 55 per cent increase in the girls competition alone.

We will be hosting four competitions around the county with one in each of the districts. The Northampton competition will be hosted at ON’s cricket club on the 5th, 12th and 19th June, Kettering & Corby competition will be hosted at Corby Business Academy on 5th and 12th June. As well as the South Northants competition on 4th and 11th June at Towcestrians CC and the East Northants competition at Wollaston CC. We would like to wish all children involved the best of luck.

The winners of these competitions will come to a finals day hosted at the county ground. From here the winners will represent Northamptonshire in a Midlands finals day. Asda staff will be present at the finals day supplying the children with snacks and refreshments.
