Steelbacks star takes on #CrickShots Clay Pigeon challenge in new video promo

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Friends Life t20 competition, including five Northants Cricket home matches at The County Ground starting on 28th June 2013.

To mark the launch, Friends Life t20 stars from each county have taken on a unique challenge for an entertaining new video released today. Illustrating the fast-paced, unpredictable and fun nature of the tournament, the players are shown being tasked with the ultimate test of their power and accuracy – a Clay Pigeon shoot with a cricketing twist.

Filmed at The Oval and Edgbaston, 18 players including Steelbacks’ very own Rob Keogh attempt to knock a flying clay out of the sky, first with ball in hand and then with bat. After a succession of near and not so near misses, Glamorgan’s Chris Cooke sends the group into raptures with not one, but two incredible efforts.

ECB Chief Executive David Collier commented: “The Friends Life t20 competition is all about expecting the unexpected. With 90 group matches around the county, the #CrickShots video is designed to remind fans that they can experience great-value, explosive and entertaining cricket at a ground near them this summer. ”

This season’s competition gets underway when reigning champions host Surrey at the Ageas Bowl on Wednesday 26 June. The Steelbacks are one of six teams in the Midlands, West & Wales group, playing each team home and away. The top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams battle it out in the quarter-finals, and four teams then proceed to the showpiece Finals Day, which will this year be held on Saturday 17 August at Edgbaston.
