Northamptonshire claimed a narrow Duckworth-Lewis victory in their Second XI Trophy match at Oundle School on Thursday - after Rob White marked his return to County colours with a half-century.
Drafted into the side to help out, White hit 58 from 69 balls as Northamptonshire totalled a solid-looking 260-5 in their 40 overs against the Unicorns.
He and Rob Keogh (36) launched a recovery following the early dismissal of David Sales, and further handy contributions from in-form trialist Tom Lancefield (58no), fit-again James Kettleborough (48) and Zak Khawaja (23no) ensured a good score.
The Unicorns had reache 93-1 in the 18th over when rain interrupted their innings for the second time. No further play was possible and the visitors were left one run short of the D/L par score of 94, giving Northamptonshire the narrowest of wins.
Luke Evans picked up the only wicket to fall.
