Sales hits form in MK

David Sales hit form with a superb unbeaten 155 on the opening day of Northamptonshire's Second XI Championship match against Gloucestershire at Campbell Park on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old former County skipper hit four sixes and 18 fours in his 202-ball knock - guiding Northamptonshire to 319-4 declared.

Gloucestershire reached 22 without loss in reply at the close.

Sales found good support from Rob Keogh (83 from 111 deliveries), the pair adding 153 for the third wicket.  And when Keogh departed Christian Davis (31) took over the back-up role, helping Sales in a fourth-wicket stand worth 94.

Play resumes - weather permitting - on Wednesday morning.
