Northamptonshire endured a bad day at the office at the start of their Second XI Championship match against Kent at Beckenham on Tuesday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the County were given a solid 82-run start by openers Stephen Peters (44) and James Kettlesborough (32).
But the rest collapsed in spectacular fashion as 82-0 became 151 all out - Charlie Shreck doing most of the damage with 5-39.
Kent then replied strongly through Daniel Bell-Drummond (100no) and Alex Blake (69no) and closed on 232-1 - already a lead of 81 with plenty of power to add.
The only wicket to fall came courtesy of a run-out, and Northamptonshire will hope for a much better showing on Wednesday.
