Northants host Glamorgan on Wednesday in a must win LV= County Championship game as the team chase promotion. Northants are currently sitting second in the division, 31 points ahead of third placed Essex and 32 points ahead of Gloucestershire. Glamorgan are currently fifth in the division, 44 points behind Northants.
Last week Northants travelled to Chelmsford to take on promotion rivals Essex. After Peters won the toss and elected to bat, the batsmen made a great start finishing on 531 all out. After taking some early wickets, Northants were hampered by the third day being washed out. The rain prevented Northants going on to win, but they did come away with 7 bonus points, to strengthen their grip on second place.
Glamorgan put in a very strong performance last time as they hammered Leicestershire in Swansea. An innings of 178 by Murray Goodwin led Glamorgan to declare on 508, before winning by an innings and 37 runs, receiving a total of 24 points from the game.
The last time these two sides met was the first game of the season in Cardiff. On that occasion, rain severely affected the game washing out the final day’s play, meaning the game ended in a draw. But Northants did gain more bonus points, as they left Cardiff with 8 points.

There is only one change to the team that faced Essex last week. David Willey comes back into the squad after being unavailable last week due to England Lions duty.
Stephen Peters will once again lead the team and hope to carry his good form with the bat.
