Northants register Jonathan Batty

2nd September 2013

Northants Cricket can announce that former Surrey and Gloucestershire wicketkeeper Jonathan Batty will be registered to play for the club in the LV= County Championship match vs. Hampshire starting this week.

Batty, who retired from First Class cricket at the end of last season with career stats of 9,600 runs, 605 catches and 68 Stumpings in 220 appearances, has agreed to play for Northants for the one match, as David Murphy has international commitments with Scotland and Ben Duckett is out injured.

Head Coach David Ripley said, “With our two wicketkeepers unavailable for selection in the Hampshire match this week, and given the importance of the fixture for our promotion push, we were looking for an experienced campaigner to help. I am delighted that Jonathan has agreed to join us for this match.”
