Many of the Northants squad will be plying their trade overseas during the winter months. Northants Cricket will be keeping you up to date with their progress and form.
David Willey is currently with the England EPP squad, training at Loughborough University, before the squad travel to Australia for a month. After this Willey will go to New Zealand, where he will play for the Auckland Aces in the HRV Twenty20 Cup.
Kyle Coetzer and David Murphy will both be playing for Scotland, as they take part in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers in the UAE, starting from November 15th. Coetzer will captain the squad in the 16 team tournament as they take on teams such as Afghanistan and Netherlands.
Ben Duckett will once again captain the England Under 19’s for a busy winter for the squad. The squad trained have been training at Loughborough, before travelling to Sri Lanka for an additional training camp. This will be great preparation for the tri-series in the UAE against Pakistan, which will be followed by the ICC under 19 World Cup in February, which will also be in the UAE.
In the England Development Programme featuring primarily under 17’s, is Academy youngster Matt Taylor. The EDP will have training and development camps at Loughborough, followed by another training camp during the Easter holiday in Sri Lanka, which will feature fixtures against Sri Lanka under 17’s.
Matthew Spriegel will be one of three current Northants players spending their winter in Sydney, Australia. Spriegel will be playing for St George’s, James Kettleborough, also Down Under, will play for Eastern Suburbs Dolphins and Academy player Vicram Sohal will also be playing in Sydney.
