Steelbacks Players to visit Schools

Following the success of school visits over the past few years by the Steelbacks players, we are once again delighted to announce that the Northants 1st team squad will be doing school visits on various dates up until the Easter Holidays.

During the winter season of 2012/2013, Steelbacks players such as Alex Wakely and David Willey visited numerous Northamptonshire based schools, which proved to be an exciting experience for pupils from both primary and secondary levels of education.

The players will be available to visit the County’s schools once again this winter either presenting to the schools cricket teams in a seminar style setting, or to the entire school during an assembly, to name but a couple of options.

This year, we are excited to have a great balance of players within the team from newly signed youngsters to those who have represented their Countries at the heights of their careers; all of whom could provide a fantastic insight into the professional sport of cricket for the pupils who could be potential future players of the sport.

This is a unique opportunity for local school children to gain an insider’s view into the exhilarating and challenging world of professional cricket.

2014 will see the Steelbacks battle the giants of the domestic game in the first division of the LV=County Championship as well as looking to defend their t20 crown and welcoming the touring Sri Lanka squad to the County Ground for a four day game in June 2013

If your school would be interested in a visit from any of our players, please contact Danielle Cross via email at
