Work has started at the County Ground on developing a new permanent stand next to the Lynn Wilson Centre. Workers have been in since the 2nd January dismantling the temporary University of Northampton and Briggs & Forrester stands.
The new permanent stand will seat 950 people and is scheduled to be finished for the beginning of the 2014 season. The new stand continues to improve the multi-functionality of the County Ground, as the club will be able to use it for concerts as well as cricket.
Northants Cricket Chief Executive, David Smith said, “The new 950-seater permanent stand will be built, subject to planning approval, in time for the start of the cricket season, replacing the temporary stands that have been in place since 2009. The new stand will be a welcome addition to the on-going development of facilities at the ground, which have been taking place over the last year.”
