Northants Cricket all-rounder James Middlebrook and the now retired seamer Lee Daggett help raise over £3,600 during the Big Bike Ride in aid of the Tom Maynard Trust and PCA Benevolent Fund after cycling from Durham to Lord’s.
The ride, which began on Friday 18th October, saw a host of cricketers, administrators and fans of the game ride over some of the most testing terrain in England.
Some of the money raised by James and Lee has gone to help former Northants player Winston Davis with a new Mobility Wheelchair to help him in everyday life.
James Middlebrook said of the money raised, “I’d like to thank all of the generous Northants Cricket members for their contributions and thank both Rikki and Jamie from the ground staff for their help in the fundraising.”
“We did it! The ride was very tough but enjoyable all the same – especially as Jason Ratcliffe’s Sat Nav didn’t work at times! It was great to meeting people from all different walks of life on the ride from the like of Brewin Dolphin and Capita.”
“We just like to thank everyone for all your support!”
