Northants Cricket can confirm that the Steelbacks’ Royal London One Day Cup fixture against Worcestershire Royals, on Tuesday 29th July will be held at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes.
This will be the first game, as part of a three year commitment to holding a fixture at the out ground.
The game will begin at 10.30am and will be a great day out for the family, as Northants Cricket tries to keep the strong links with the Milton Keynes community. With players such as Graeme White being born in Milton Keynes, the city has always been a strong catchment area for the County.
Northants Cricket Chief Executive David Smith said, “I am delighted that we will be returning Northants First Team cricket to Campbell Park, Milton Keynes. The club is committing to one 50 over game for the next three years as we try really hard to try and establish a strong partnership between Northants Cricket and Milton Keynes. I very much hope that the local business & cricket community will support us in this venture.”
Head Coach David Ripley said, “I always enjoyed going to out grounds as a player and I will look forward to going to Milton Keynes. It has huge potential, and having played Academy and 2nd team cricket there over many years, we know the wicket will be of first class standard.”
Briony Fox, Head of Community Engagement at The Parks Trust, said: “We’re very happy to see Northants Cricket using our first class cricket ground at Campbell Park and look forward to welcoming them and cricket fans here for the next three years.”
