Northants Cricket wicketkeeper batsman Ben Duckett struck a superb century to guide England Under 19s to a 1-wicket win over Australia Under 19s at the Under 19s World Cup in United Arab Emirates.
Duckett smashed a 109-ball century with nine boundaries to help the England U19s overhaul the Aussies’ total of 246 – his explosive batting earning him the Man of the Match award in his final appearance for the England U19s.
The 19-year-old shone during the World Cup scoring 266 runs in four matches at an average of 67, with two 50s and a ton, earning two Man of the Match awards.
The Stowe School graduate finished as the 7th highest scoring batsman in the tournament, despite missing two games due to injury.
Ben tweeted after the 3rd place play-off victory, “What a way to finish my under 19 career! To say we’re 3rd best in the world and getting my first ton in England shirt! What a team effort!!”
