During February, Club Captain Stephen Peters and David Murphy visited India for a week, to get some intensive batting practice in the sub-continental conditions.
Going out to Bangalore the players expected to face many quality spinners, but were also pleasantly surprised at the amount of good pace bowlers they faced, which kept them on their toes.
David Murphy said, “The training facilities were excellent and the enthusiasm of the bowlers allowed us to bat for as long as we wanted, so we can work on what we wanted, especially focusing on the technical aspects.
Thanks to Don Bragwhati at City Cricket Academy for organising the trip and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Also thank you to Irfan Sait at Karnataka Institute of Cricket for providing the facilities and bowlers.
Stephen and I greatly enjoyed the trip, hopefully other players might be able to take up this excellent opportunity in the future.”
