Northants vs. Yorkshire Day One


In the final pre-season game before the LV= County Championship starts for Northants against Durham on Sunday, the team are hosting Yorkshire here at the County Ground in a three day fixture.

Northants won the toss and elected to bat. The innings did not get off to a great start, as Captain Stephen Peters was caught behind for a duck off Patterson. However fellow opener James Middlebrook anchored the Northants innings, as Kyle Coetzer was dismissed and Rob Keogh retired hurt, with both on 11.

Middlebrook was finally caught for 79, but only after a long partnership with Andrew Hall who also scored a half century finishing on 66. At the end of the first day, Northants finished on 283 for 5 with Matthew Spriegel on 42 and Steven Crook on 19.
