Northants declared overnight on 283 for 5, giving Yorkshire the chance to bat on day two of the pre-season friendly between the sides here at the County Ground.
Yorkshire brought a very strong batting line-up to Northampton for this friendly, but were a dealt a major blow when Jonny Bairstow injured his finger fielding on day one, so wasn’t able to bat.
Yorkshire got off to a strong start with an opening partnership of over 100, before Stone dismissed Lyth for 30. Opener Alex Lees was Yorkshire’s star man, scoring 105 before being caught by Chambers off Crook.
Pacemen Steven Crook and Muhammad Azhar Ullah, were the stand out bowlers for Northants, with figures of 3 for 57 and 3 for 61 respectively. Chambers, Middlebrook, Stone and Hall all took one wicket a piece, as they bowled Yorkshire out for 316.
After Yorkshire were bowled out, the teams decided to call it a day and bat 40 overs each on the final day.
