Yorkshire vs. Northants Day Three

Day Three saw Northants start their second innings, trailing by 365 runs after being made to follow-on by Yorkshire.

Play was interrupted at regular intervals by the weather, as Northants tried to keep themselves in the game after a bad first innings. The second innings did not start well for Northants, as Stephen Peters was caught behind off Sidebottom for 11, but after that, James Middlebrook and Kyle Coetzer put together Northants’ largest partnership of the game. The pair took Northants to 113 before Coetzer was caught for Sidebottom’s second wicket whilst on 39.

Middlebrook played his usual role of anchoring the Northants innings, as he occupied the crease for over three hours in scoring 63, before being caught off Brooks late in the day. Northants ended day three on 149 for 4, trailing by 216 runs.

The weather looks like it will be overcast for most of day four, with rain expected before 4pm. Follow @NorthantsCCC on Twitter for regular match updates.
