Northants started day four on 149 for 4, needing another 217 runs to force Yorkshire to bat again - whilst Yorkshire aimed to bowl Northants out before it started raining.
The day did not start well for Northants, as key man Rob Newton was caught for 11 off Sidebottom, with the score still on 149. From then on wickets started falling at regular intervals, with only the tenth wicket partnership of David Murphy and Muhammad Azhar Ullah putting on 50 runs between them.
Unfortunately, after showing great fight, Azhar Ullah was caught off Rashid for 23, bringing the Northants innings as well as the game to an end on 245, meaning Northants lost by an innings and 120 runs.
Northants will be looking to bounce back from the defeat, as they host Lancashire here at the County Ground, with the game starting at 11am.
