Northants vs. Lancashire Match Preview

Northants face Lancashire here at the County Ground in the LV= County Championship, as the hosts look to bounce back from a bitter defeat away to Yorkshire earlier in the week.

Northants did not have a good time up in Leeds, as they came up against a very strong Yorkshire outfit, who have their sights set on winning the LV= County Championship this season. After a bad first innings, where they were bowled out for 94, Northants always faced an uphill battle as the team lost by an innings and 120 runs.

Lancashire’s last game, saw them host Warwickshire in a heavily rain affected game which ended in a draw. Paul Horton shone with the bat in both innings scoring in eighties both times, the only Lancashire player to pass the half century mark in either innings. Lancashire possess a potent bowling attack with England key pace bowler James Anderson spearheading an attack that also features the likes of Glen Chapple and Simon Kerrigan.

Last season, Northants struggled against Lancashire in the LV= County Championship, with the red rose county winning both games on their way to winning the Division Two title.
