James Kettleborough was the star for Northants on the opening day of the three day game against Durham MCCU yesterday.
Northants won the toss and elected to bat. Northants and in particular Kettleborough started very well, with Northants reaching 88 before losing Kyle Coetzer as he was bowled by Van Den Bergh for 16.
After Coetzer was dismissed, David Sales joined Kettleborough with the pair putting on a 106 run partnership, before Kettleborough was caught off Bishnoi for an excellent 110. Sales was also impressive, scoring 87 before he was dismissed by Phillips, with the score on 256 for 4.
Northants declared on 318 for 7, with Matt Milnes finishing as the stand out bowler for Durham MCCU, recording figures of 3 for 56.
In reply, Maurice Chambers grabbed an early wicket, as opener Cameron Steel was caught by Sales at slip for a duck. Durham MCCU ended the day on 10 for 1, having batted for only 7 overs.
